happy.happy.happy

i have always thought i want to get a service of a back up photographer that could come earlier during the preps since my main photog is arriving at 1PM. i got in touch with one but since i can't find the budget for him, i was not able to confirm immediately of us getting his services. not till the other night.

mommy: "gusto mo kunin ko si mang domeng to take pictures sa wedding?"
me: "huwat? si mang domeng?" (gosh, sineryoso pala ako ng nanay ko about getting mang domeng).
mommy: "oo. mag picture-picture lang sya dun. ako na bahala sa kanya."
me: "if gusto mo, i know a photographer. yun na lang kunin mo."
mommy: "magkano?"
me: "******" (syempre ayaw ko disclose sa inyo).
mommy: "sure ka? magaling?"
me: "opo! magaling talaga. walang sinabi si mang domeng"
mommy: "sino yan?"
me: "si ___________________"
mommy: "talaga? o sige."

i immediately got in touch with the said photographer to check if he was still available on January 6. after i knew he was, i called my main photog to get his permission of me getting a back up photographer. he didn't have any problems with it and last night i received the contract from the photographer. weebee. after lunch, im off to the bank to send our downpayment.

let me introduce to all, our back up photographer....Atty Raymond Fortun. check out his multiply account to know that he is not only a kick a** lawyer but a kick a** photographer as well.

one month to go...baby steps to 010609

this is it!

when i started the wedding preps, i said i want to have finished everything by december but i must have been dreaming when i said that. im starting to feel panicky with all the things i have to do and finalize but im happy that everyday, i am able to accomplish something. the coming days are going to be very busy as i am to meet with people who would help us make our wedding beautiful. LD is arriving in 15 days and i am preparing his list of things to do ( teehee, joke lang. ). i remember us starting the countdown to 140++ days to his arrival and we are now down to the last 15 days.

i have in my past posts mentioned my dilemma as to my bridal car. i have toyed with the idea of just riding a cab or using my parent's adventure. i called a lot of bridal companies and car rental companies in my search for an affordable/reasonably priced bridal car. at one time, i almost fell out of my chair when one of the companies i called told me that to rent a toyota fortuner for 10 hours would cost me Php35,000. i told the lady i was not buying the fortuner, i only wanted to rent it for a day. i thought i was doomed to just taking a cab and i know LD has been nervous that i was really serious about it. yesterday though i found the solution to my problem. i found something i really wanted and it was reasonably priced too. i found my bridal car uhm, correction my bridal SUV. met up with the owner's at serendra yesterday, went for a joy ride, discussed some details and i closed the deal by paying for the downpayment. friends, meet our bridal SUV...

love it! i still have one surprise with the SUV but you'ld have to be at the church to know what it is. still so many things to do and as what the title of the post says, i am taking baby steps to jan 6. one day at a time and im pretty sure i would get to finish everything. it is the little details that is stressing me out but i only feel stressed for a minute or two and then i realize that what's important is that we get married and have our families, relatives and friends with us on that day.

Wedding Preps Update 3

49 days to go!

-completed the chancery requirements. got our clearance already and wedding banns are now posted in nueva ecija. after i get our wedding banns, all i would need to submit is our marriage license.

-booked TSG to provide music for the church and reception. prepare those dancing shoes!

-had a meeting with kaye, our caterer. finalized the menu and discussed flower arrangements, layout, etc etc.

-picked up the barongs from our divisoria based supplier. sean's and andy's barong are super cute. that means no more buzz light year costume for sean.

- got a tiara for the flower girls. try muna ni ernie...ernie looks so gay with the tiara!

-almost finished with the distribution of the invitations.

-visited with ammon. scheduled fittings, finalized a few more details. we are to meet again soon for dad's barong and LD's barong. got the cloth from him that i could use for my shoes. after i pick up my shoes, i will just have to give it to him for the beadwork. yey!

hindi ko po gown yan. i took a picture of one of the gown's sa shop nya while i was waiting for my turn to talk to him. teehee.

that's it pansit. 49 days to go, 49 million things to do pa.

Two Months to Go

don't ask me on what happened in october, for i won't be able to answer. basta when i woke up this morning and realized that today was the 6th of november, i immediately grabbed my bride's yellow pages from w@w and looked for a bridal car. teehee. i told LD i will just ride the taxi, para maiba lang. im not willing to pay 10K for a bridal car. how much would my cab fare be from holiday inn galleria to santuario de san jose? 100 bucks probably and then another 200 from santuario to blueleaf. teehee.

this month is going to be busy.busy.busy. i will start giving out my invitations...please RSVP. we are preparing placecards so if you don't rsvp and go to the wedding, you'ld probably end up with out a seat. if you have not received an invitation yet (well the US guests have received the invitations already), wag mag tampo. you should be getting one soon.

im meeting up with my coord this week (i think) and then with my caterer next week. we have finalized the menu already (weebee). schedule for our prenup has been made--imagine nyo while everyone else is preparing for noche buena, we are having our prenup. yeah, it's december 24. we have received our clearance from the chancery of manila already and have submitted all documents with santuario. all we need now is the marriage license, which we should get a day before the wedding, teehee. entertainment for the reception will be finalized this week--i hope. we will have our fitting this month too. i need to get in touch with our emcee (hi, len), finish the missalette layout, do all the other things i want to add for the reception, confirm hotel bookings, and look for a bridal car!

eeek! so many things to do pa and i don't think i even listed everything that we really do have to do. when LD arrives, he does not even have time to get over the jet lag. teehee. we have a schedule already of things to do, people to meet and places to go to.

2 months...2 months...2 months....

Ring Bearer

One of the first things i have decided on with the planning of the wedding was that i want barong for the groom and the male entourage--that is non-negotiable. I have changed my mind though with what our ring bearer has to wear after seeing his recent pictures.

ring bearer sean aka little buzz lightyear

smiling buzz

super cute

ring bearer sean with flower girl isabela

If i convince LD to have sean wear the buzz lightyear costume for the wedding, maybe i can convince him into having a powerpuff girl cake. teehee.

Wedding Preps Update 2

should i panic now that i only have a little over three months to go before the wedding? if i really think about it, i should be finished with all the planning by end of november as december is going to be a super busy month. i doubt if my suppliers are going to be available for meetings as december is wedding month.

i went to the wedding expo 2 weeks ago but was not really able to book anything. let me write what i have done and what i have yet to do.

Church: Santuario de San Jose
-paid reservation fee.
-i have secured a copy of my baptismal certificate already. i have ld's baptismal and confirmation. i have to submit all our documents to the chancery of manila by mid october and submit everything back to the church.

Reception: Blue Leaf
-paid 50% of the pavillion fee. the rest is to be paid on december.
Caterer: K by Cunanan

-i have to finalize the menu, schedule my final food tasting, discuss table set up and event styling. i have to also discuss the layout of how we want the pavillion to look.

Photo/Video: Lito Genilo for Smartshot Studio
-paid reservation fee
-we have to submit photos for AVP, schedule the pre nup, have meeting with the videographer. submit a list of must have shots for the wedding.

-paid 50% down payment
-i have finalized my gown design already.
-gowns for the entourage still to be finalized.

On the Day Coordinator: Fab Occasion
-paid 40% downpayment
-schedule meeting

Invitations: Printlane
-paid 50% downpayment
-after weeks and tons of invitations, i have finally decided on what i wanted. so far, this was the hardest task for me. selecting the invitation for the wedding. im still super scared that it might turn out to be an ugly invitation. we have finished proofing and i get the invites by first week of october.

Wedding Ring:Matus
-paid 30% downpayment
-finalized on the design and sizes. rings were suppose to be ready for pick up by october but we decided to just get in december. baka mawala ko pa yun!

-i have not really finalized anything with len, pero sana she is still available for the wedding.
-will have to schedule a meeting with her and camille (coord).

-booked!

To Do's
-find a cake supplier.
-finalize the florist with mommy.
-find a bridal car.

-barong for the male ento.

am i missing anything else? yup, madami pa talaga. after writing this post gusto ko na mag panic. teehee.

Wedding Cake

i finally found our wedding cake!

the cake maker is good old reliable goldilocks. when i saw it, i instantly knew i want the cake. it was never on any of the magazines i was browsing. not even martha stewart thought of it.

ang cute diba? teehee. i told ld about it already and he was willing to NOT have a cake for the wedding if i was persistent on getting a powerpuff girl cake. so yeah, even if i really like it, i can't have it.

and i thought i can get away with it, teehee!

Wedding Preps Update 1

ang pinaka masarap na part pala ng wedding preps ay ang food tasting. last tuesday, i had two. one with kaye cunanan for lunch and with cuillere for dinner. me and the parents were super busog.

we are happy we are making progress with the wedding preparations. here is what we have...

Church - Sanctuario de San Jose
Reception - Blue Leaf Events Pavillion
Caterer - K Cunanan (will just have to finalize the menu)
Photo and Video - Lito Genilo of Smart Shot Studio
Wedding Rings - Matus Jewelry

oha, we are making progress diba. Kahit na walang wedding gown, may wedding ring naman na. teehee. shorts and flipflop na lang ulit like the engagement. one thing we are having a hard time with are the invitations. i thought madali lang yun...hindi pala.

hopefully, i get to finish the invites this week. then i can move on to other things. 5 months and one week to go! teehee...oo may countdown talaga.

Wedding Preparations

i know i still have to blog my engagement kwento but right now it's the wedding preps that's keeping me busy. i never thought preparing for a wedding is this difficult. looking for the right church and reception venue is giving me a headache. i pray i get to book the church this week.

another thing bothering me is the reception venue. i want a really nice place for a reception venue. the thing is super nice reception venues cost an arm and a leg. that is venue alone! i'ld rather spend on good food, drinks and music than scrimp on that part just to have a nice venue for a reception. tama ba ako? so pwede na talaga sa mcdo na lang diba? cheeseburger!

photographers and videographers are expensive too! of course i want super nice photos of my wedding day, so no choice but to invest on this. sometimes i think we can just get mang domeng (official family photographer)! teehee. he still uses film and the video is in betamax format.

then the bridal gown and that of the entourage. honestly. for a gown i would only be wearing for one day i don't want to spend a lot on this too. after my wedding day, i won't have a use for my gown. i know i'ld have to just find a good dressmaker and nice material and i should be fine. but i don't want "bulsa" on my wedding gown--or maybe i do for my cellphone, tissue and my vows. teehee.

i only have 5 months to prepare for the "party that begins a new chapter in our lives". i want this to be a great one to be enjoyed not only by ld and me but by all those we love.

hay....back to surfing muna for more ideas. uhm...open ang suggestion box.
